Hello Self-styled Smoker!




Hello there! Guys, an invention which has been storming across every second causing all but benefit to man, that is the cigarette! Well, you enter high school or college, encounter a world where smoking is cool, prestigious, and stylish, and decide to be a part of the new world! But little do we know what it can cost us. Let’s for a change of perspective, look towards a self-styled smoker. "I am a doctor, i know very well about pros and cons of smoking, you don't need to preach me that!" says the smoker. Well you doctor, there are no pros in smoking! Now, this is why reducing the incidence of smoking is an uphill task, since the doctor himself smokes! Agreed that he is no saint, no extra power in him to control smoking, but everyone has common sense and smoking doctors just fail to use them often! A man, who out of circumstances became best buddies with cigars, can't part with them, addicted to them, spoiling his health, wealth and more. What more he spoils? That is the atrocity; he spoils other's health, wealth too and takes the credit for putting another aspirant into the pipeline of smoking! When a patient comes to the doctor suffering from fever, we try to find out what caused the fever; meanwhile give a pill to control the fever. Likewise, if we approach the problem of smoking epidemic, it is not going to help much. Firstly, the root cause is strong, addiction, peer pressure, urbanization, lot more. Secondly, what about symptomatic treatment like a pill to bring down smoking, that doesn't work too, since the urge to smoke again can develop in a nano second, anytime! Finally it is a situation in the world now that people buy packs with a very gruesome lung cancer depicted on it with captions 'Smoking kills', they don't bother about it anymore because they now apparently know that 'smoking kills, but after many years ! By then i would have had natural death'. Well, that is obviously and bluntly wrong, but smokers think they are smart smokers, can't help it! My point is, to look at a bigger picture we failing to look at, the pitiable community of passive smokers. Now this has been identified as a problem worldwide, shockingly contributing to the death list due to smoking. This can be stopped, must be stopped! Now I ask you smoker, if you like it, you shall, but why act the exhibitionist and kill people around? I would suggest you smoke at will if you like to but stay like a cockroach! Do it in your own secluded place, be afraid of causing trouble to the community. Now here you must learn about smoking and tobacco, not for you my friend but to know how much harm you are doing to others. Well you might want to know that your family is in the community too.




My friend, although you smoke, you are not an alien, you are just a potential threat to existence of others, well that was a bit of exaggeration! Anyways, since i called you my friend, which is true since every one of us will have a best buddy who smokes the hell out! Shouldn't we attempt to help them? Definitely we should, we if not succeed in stopping their habit, should at least curb passive smoking and advice the smokers about ways to cause less damage to lungs. I would like to suggest some, people smoke saying that it relieves constipation, increases concentration, and helps them stay awake. Well that is quite untrue; it is like using a toilet cleaner to clean your face. Please don't just look at one component which may prove beneficial to you, pull your eyes wide open and look at the dangers around, it has hundreds of them! Go for a healthy alternative, grapes are a natural laxative, do some exercise like hopping around the room for a while, that would improve your concentration, regularize your sleep habits. If you think all these alternatives are bullshits, and then try doing less damage to lungs while you are still on a smoke, eating lots of green leafy vegetables, consuming oranges, drinking lime juice, they may aid in destroying harmful chemicals produced by smoking from spoiling your lungs. Walk or run a lot, to improve your stamina which has been run down by smoking. Do deep breathing whenever possible, do not smoke till the end of the cigarette, and keep a budget for the packs you buy per month! Keep your mouth stink free, avoid smoking the first thing in the morning, or while going to bed, these are the worst timings for your heart, lungs and brain. I understand every teenager feels the utmost necessity to enjoy various products available in life, but that should just be it for a short span of time. Well i cannot say know about the harms before you try smoking, that is absurd, it’s like saying know about the girl in and out before you fall in love with her, it just happens in no time, well we fall in love in order to know more about each other in the first place right ! About falling in love with smoking, it’s not all like the human love; it takes a while to get accustomed to it, so why not use that opportunity and reason to abort the habit right there. You actually don't lose anything by not smoking, which is the unsaid truth.
